Learning Support
Support for Students Who Learn Differently
Learning support is embedded within the academic experience and designed to respond to each student’s individual learning profile.
Students engage with an education specialist to develop strategies, strengthen skills, and build the habits necessary for sustained academic progress.
Areas of Focus Include:
- Time Management — develop a weekly or monthly schedule that includes classes, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments. Use tools like planners or digital calendars to stay organized
- Transitional Support — integrate short breaks between tasks to refresh your mind. Use this time to stretch, take a walk, or engage in a quick, enjoyable activity to recharge your focus
- Course Organization — identify and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and importance. Focus on high-priority assignments and break them into smaller, manageable steps
- Study Skills — minimize distractions during study sessions by turning off notifications, finding a quiet space, and staying away from social media. Create a conducive environment for concentration
- Test-Taking Strategies — instead of simply reading through materials, engage in active studying. Take notes, create flashcards, and teach the material to someone else. This reinforces your understanding
- Homework Management — allocate specific blocks of time for different activities, such as studying, homework, and leisure. This helps maintain focus and prevents distractions
Study Lab
Study Lab is held once weekly as part of our structured academic support system. Positioned midweek, these sessions provide students with a dedicated space to reset, refocus, and strengthen their academic momentum. Participation is built into the student experience.
