Throughout all years, high school English courses aim to improve students’ communication skills, both written and oral. “Ethnic studies is an interdisciplinary field of study that encompasses many
subject areas including history, literature, economics, sociology, anthropology,
and political science. It emerged to both address content considered missing
from traditional curriculum and to encourage critical engagement.”
At its core, the field of ethnic studies is the interdisciplinary study of race, ethnicity, and

The purpose of history education is multi-faceted. It serves to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the past, enabling them to develop historical literacy, learn from mistakes, promote critical thinking, understand societal change, foster civic engagement, appreciate diversity, and preserve cultural heritage. All students must complete a capstone project. This capstone project serves as a culmination of their academic journey, allowing them to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their studies

College preparatory coursework in high school is designed to equip students with the academic skills and knowledge needed for success in higher education that goes beyond the high school curriculum. The goal is to challenge students with rigorous coursework, foster critical thinking skills, and prepare them for the academic demands of college.
